I’ve been on somewhat on a roll lately. This is another drawing that I started sketching last year but for some reason put it aside. Arthur Kill is a character from Gods vs. Monsters vs. NJ whose background I’ve haven’t fleshed out yet. I just know that he’s a psychotic cupid. (Whatever that means.) The first Arthur Kill drawing can be seen here.
This was an idea I had that’s been rolling around in my head for a few years. I played around with a dozen different angles until settling on this one.
From Mypaint to Inkscape to Gimp.
When a mob boss sat down for a hearty breakfast cooked by his goomah, he was greeted by the unlikeliest of visitors. – Gods vs. Monsters vs. NJ
I’ve switched my desktop over to Xubuntu 12.04 and I’m loving it. It’s lightweight, fast, and very easy to configure. (Even though I do very little to configure my machine anyway.)
I was originally going to make a wallpaper (I still may), but decided a quick promotional piece for the next Xubuntu would be more fun. BTW, the next Xubuntu will be codenamed Roaring Ringtail, and the mascot for XFCE is a mouse.
Made in Inkscape, except for the background which was done in the Gimp.
This is a WIP of a crate using Inkscape and Gimp. This is going to be used in a new 2d animation I’m doing with Synfig. Although Synfig has vector drawing tools, they are vastly inferior to Inkscape. I used Gimp for painting and texturing.
I’ll probably finish this off by adding some scratches and dirt, but I don’t want to overdue the paint effects as I want to keep a vector art feel.
