The above frog logo is the main logo I’ll be using to “brand” the website.  Art was done in Inkscape.

The above type logo will be displayed on the banner of the website.  Type was done in Inkscape, and based on the font VTC Optika created by Vigilante Typeface Corporation at Dafont.com.

Elias turned one a couple of weeks ago.  We had his birthday party at the Firehouse down the street and it was a blast.  I have to thank my wonderful wife, Meredith, for putting everything together.  (She should really be an event planner.)  I made thank you cards using Inkscape.

Halloween cards I made for the kids in Jaden’s and Elias’s classes.

After searching the internet for some free grunge fonts, I’ve finally settled on three that I like the best.  I will probably use all three throughout the upcoming IG website as a test to see how each one looks.  The color was a choice between black, grey, or blue.  I’m leaning towards the pale blue color.  Also, I may add a grungy silhouette of the Trashbot somewhere.

BTW, I used Inkscape to put them together and add color.

Fonts were downloaded from Dafont.com and are free for personal use.  Attribution goes to:

Finally, the 2d Animatic for Industrial Garbage has been completed! The storyboards were assembled in Blender Video Sequence. The above video is only of the first couple of scenes, but I will post the complete animatic on the IG website. The running time is 5 min, and, once completed, I think it the final movie will probably be around 6 min.

I’ve learned a lot about the direction and flow of the short just from putting these storyboards in a video form. For example, I need more close up shots of the robots to balance out the wide shots. This is precisely why the 2d animatic is so important. It helps avoid some common pitfalls and mistakes that may come up during the actual rendering of the animation scenes.

A test clay render of the Scout Bot, the protagonist of Industrial Garbage.  I will probably add more crevices and some holes before I texture it.

The Scout Bot is designed for recon.  Through it’s sunglasses-like lens it can record video, sound, and thermal infrared.

It is the size of a softball.
